What are these compostable straws made from?

Restaurant Supply Drop uses compostable straws made out of PLA, which is short for Polylactic Acid, a great eco-conscious plastic substitute.  It’s usually made from plant-based matter like corn starch or sugar cane, always made from a renewable resource. Plastic straws are made from non-renewable petroleum-based products.  Our bioplastic use helps to save the environment and with our straws is a major driving force in saving marine life in our oceans.

What cities and states require you to use eco straws?

When Seattle approved a plastic straw ban it was the largest city in the country to ban straws, since 2018 there have been many other major additions to the list of cities and states that require eco straws.  California has recently enacted a plastic straw ban that effectively means restaurants can use plastic straws. Other places like New York City, Miami Beach, and Hawaii have been mulling over a plastic straw ban.
